Eric conquered the iconic French mountain Alpe d’Huez on a transit bike… with a babyseat!

By Eric Koelma | Dare List Dad

In this week's vlog we're sharing my self-assigned dare from France... To climb the Alpe D'Huez (a crazy 14km Tour De France monolith with a whopping 21 switchbacks). Now, most serious riders do that with a lightweight road bike, Lycra gear, padded shorts and clip-in shoes.

My dare was to do it with NONE of that stuff. I only had a heavy, flat-bar transit bike (with a baby seat for extra weight 😩), normal clothes, regular shoes and a whole lot of determination.

Sorry for the spoiler image... I totally made it... but you can have fun watching me suffer in today's video and also see how I inventively made myself some bike pants with a little help from Leo 👶
